About — Lahore Grammar School · Johar Town
The twelfth edition of JT Model United Nations.
JTMUN XII is hosted by Lahore Grammar School, Johar Town and runs 24–27 September 2026 — 4 consecutive days, 9 committees, one campus.
Delegates are assigned a country or a portfolio that is not their own, and are expected to argue it well enough to move a room that starts out disagreeing with them. Everything else on this page is detail.

The format
What a delegate actually does.
Model United Nations is a simulation with real constraints: rules of procedure, a chair who enforces them, and a vote at the end that either carries the text or does not. The country is assigned; the argument is yours to build.
- 01
Before the first session
Research is the part nobody sees. A delegate reads the committee topic, then reads what their assigned country has actually said and voted on, and writes a position they can hold up under questioning. Arriving without one is obvious inside a single speech.
- 02
The floor
Committee opens on a speakers' list. Delegates speak in turn, against the clock, addressing the chair rather than each other. Motions decide what the room debates and in what format; points of order keep the procedure honest.
- 03
Caucus
Moderated caucus narrows the question. Unmoderated caucus empties the seats: blocs form around a draft, working papers get written standing up, and delegates learn that the people they need are not always the people who agree with them.
- 04
The vote
Draft resolutions are submitted, amended on the floor, and voted clause by clause. Crisis committees skip most of the paperwork — they run on directives, answered inside the session that produced them.
UNSC and Global Crisis Cabinet are the two committees carrying a Compulsory designation at JTMUN XII. The full slate is listed here.

The slate
How the committees are grouped.
The 9 committees are not interchangeable. Each carries tags that describe how it runs — the procedure, the pace, and the kind of preparation it expects before the first session.
General Assembly
03 / 9Crisis
02 / 9Crisis committees do not wait for the room to be ready. Delegates hold portfolios rather than countries, write directives rather than resolutions, and answer updates that land mid-session and change the problem.
Historical
02 / 9A historical committee is fixed to a date. Delegates take the seats of people who held recorded positions and are held to them, which rewards anyone who read the period rather than the topic summary.
Regional
01 / 9A regional body argues the same questions on a smaller map, under its own charter, among members whose differences in size and power are much harder to hide than they are in New York.
Economic
01 / 9Development finance is argued in figures as well as in principle: lending terms, conditions attached to them, debt sustainability, and who carries the cost of a project that does not work.
Dual committee
01 / 9A dual committee splits into two chambers debating the same crisis in parallel. Neither room sees the other's floor, and each has to live with what the other decides.
Tags overlap: Eastern Europe High Command sits in both the crisis and historical groups, and UNSC runs as a dual committee. UNSC and Global Crisis Cabinet additionally carry the Compulsory designation.
Conduct
The Gentlemen's Code.
All participants are expected to follow the JTMUN Gentlemen's Code throughout the conference.
Everyone, for the length of the conference
The Code is not a clause in the registration terms that stops applying once committee is in session. It covers every participant for all 4 days — in the committee room, in the corridor between sessions, and anywhere on the Johar Town campus.
What it looks like in practice
Unglamorous things, mostly. Attack the position and not the delegate. Yield the floor when your time is up. Take the chair's ruling without relitigating it. A committee only works when everyone in it can be trusted to argue hard and behave well at the same time.
